Bienville Parish Schools Welcomes Ms. Mary Wilks as Director of Elementary Education
Bienville Parish Schools is proud to welcome Ms. Mary Wilks as the new Director of
Elementary Education. A lifelong resident of Arcadia, Louisiana, Ms. Wilks is deeply rooted in
the community she now has the privilege to serve in a new capacity.
Ms. Wilks is a 1994 graduate of Arcadia High School and a proud alumna of Grambling State
University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She went on to obtain
a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana Tech University, followed
by a Master of Science (+30) in Educational Leadership.
With nearly 25 years of experience in education, Ms. Wilks has served in various parishes across
Louisiana, including Ouachita, Rapides, and Lincoln. Most recently, she led Cypress Springs
Elementary as principal for nine years, where she was recognized for her outstanding leadership.
In 2020 - 2021, she was honored as Lincoln Parish Elementary Principal of the Year and was
named a semifinalist for Louisiana Principal of the Year.
Ms. Wilks is not only an experienced educator but also an active member of her community. She
is passionate about servant leadership and is excited to give back to the parish that shaped her.
Her dedication, experience, and heart for students and educators make her an exceptional
addition to the Bienville Parish leadership team.
