Start planning for your future now! With High School Orientation coming up, it’s time to start thinking about plans after high school! If you are planning to attend a university, a community or technical college, or enter the workforce, you can and should take steps now to make that transition smoother.
Bienville Parish offers several opportunities to get an early start on all these pathways for a prosperous future. At Saline High School, we highly encourage every student to take advantage of those that fit their future goals. We are excited to announce that we have entered a new partnership with Louisiana State University at Eunice (LSUE) to offer Dual Enrollment classes and even an Academy. Whether you plan on earning an associate degree or just working on your English and math skills to increase your ACT score while earning college credit, there are opportunities for you to do so right here at Saline High School!
With this partnership, SHS students who qualify will be able to sit in an English III class at Saline High and simultaneously earn college credit for college-level composition or literature classes! Math and Social Studies classes are also available to be taught in the same manner, earning credit for the required high school course at the same time. In this atmosphere, these students will have access to a college-level curriculum delivered by a dedicated professor from LSUE, along with their proven tutoring system. Additionally, because it takes place in our classrooms, our teachers will be there as an added resource! Furthermore, you will earn credit for both courses in the same amount of time it takes to complete one. It will not be an extra class that you have to take on your own time! Beyond these “in-class” courses, there are several others to choose from that can be delivered through LSUE’s proven online platform.
